BarFry will feature DeChellis's light, fresh and unique take on this traditional Japanese dish in a casual setting. Among the a la carte items BarFry offers are made-to-order tempura Po Boys, "bar boxes" which include a selection of seafood and vegetable tempuras and hand-selected meats prepared tonkatsu style ( Japanese cutlet), as well as signature sauces such as Pickled Jalapeno Soy, Red Yuzu Hot sauce and Wasabi Remoulade. There is also a variety of side dishes like Sauteed Pea Leaves with Lemon Zest and XO Sauce, Olive Oil and Wasabi Pickles, and a chalkboard featuring daily tempura specials with ingredients that are sourced from local purveyors. Rounding out the menu will be a carefully selected wine list, house cocktails and the JD Gaijin Pale Ale, a beer produced exclusively for DeChellis by Rogue Brewery in Newport, Oregon.

BarFry is inspired by the ritual of the classic tempura bars of Japan; yet in a more casual and lively environment. The Greenwich Village restaurant features a classic 55-seat dining room, a full bar, and will serve dinner and late-night guests seven days a week. Barfry will also serve lunch in the very near future and is the perfect option for unique private events and parties for all occaisions.
