Birdland is a nyc institution, a hotbed for jazz icons and rising stars for more than 50 years. Named after famed saxophonist Charlie Parker, birdland is a must-go even if you're not a jazz enthusiast. musicians range from classic to contemporary jazz artists to swing bands to the occasional cabaret act. i recently caught a performance by jazz violinist Regina Carter, who is truly a beautiful performer.
