In addition to letting you save and organize your favorite bars and restaurants ("TasteSpots") and food and drink related content across the net ("Tastys"), you're MyTasteBuds account will enable you to track your Site Ranking - an indication of where you stand in the "Cheque Please!" program.
As part of TasteSpace.com's "Cheque Please!" program, you'll receive points for all of your approved contributions to our Venue Profiles, including:
- User Reviews and Ratings
- Venue Photo Uploads
- Venue Highlights and Details suggestions (cuisines, ambiances, features)
- Content Contributions & Corrections
- Missing Venue Reports
Any time you come across a popup with an option to log in is an opportunity to earn points and be part of the payoff (see below).
Registered MyTasteBuds users will also receive points for their contributions to "The TasteBuzz," TasteSpace.com's online magazine and social bookmarking section.

- Tag them to relevant Venue Profiles for other users to enjoy
- Add your own comments
- Show your approval of their submission with a "Tasty" vote
These are all ways that you'll be helping us aggregate and organize the internet's content regarding Bars and Restaurants. That's the goal of TasteSpace, and the reason we'll reward you for your work.
And what's the point of a higher rank? Of what reward do we speak?
By competing in the Cheque Please! Competition, you'll be working towards receiving cash in the event of a company acquisition or IPO. After seeing the founders of sites like MySpace and YouTube walk away with more zeros in their pockets than a real Googol, I think we can all agree that the time we spend building media empires for post-adolescents, while viewing their obnoxious banner advertisements, should be compensated... heavily.
For our first contest, we are offering an aggregate success fee of $250,000 in the case of a sale/IPO for more than $10,000,000. If realized, this fee will be split among the 250 users who have compiled the most points. Each user will receive cash in proportion to his relative ranking in points.
Along the way, we will be offering exclusive deals/rewards from our registered venues to top users each month. Free cosmos, sushi for 2, 50% off your meal - you get the idea. There'll be much more at your favorite New York city bars and restaurants!
