4th of July at Bond
Chef Marc Spitzer has whipped up a special Fourth of July menu that starts seating at 6 p.m., and it trades the expected American classic bbq for dishes with a heavy Japanese twist. While your neighbor grills drumsticks on the fire escape, here you can partake of such treats as grilled oysters on the half-shell ($12) or a plate of grilled and smoked quail ($14), sided by adzuki beans and yaki tare sauce. But don't worry, burger fans—you'll still be able to order up your dish, but here it's Washugyu-brand beef with oven-dried tomatoes and a mustard sauce for $27. Add in specialty cocktails like a sake watermelon martini and a white peach shochu beverage, and you might just forget all about everybody else back home still struggling with the briquettes.

Starkbierzeit Festival
Munich’s Starkbierzeit (literally, “strong beer festival”) typically takes place in March—but Burp Castle has revived the boozefest in July. The four unique high-alcohol brews on tap—including Belgian Scaldis—are $10, but charcuterie (from Salumeria Rosi) is free

NYC Restaurant Week
Jul 12, 2009
Twice a year, in January and June/July, there is a unique opportunity to experience some of New York City's finest restaurants for a fraction of the usual price. Throughout the city, restaurants participate in "Restaurant Week" where they offer a three-course lunch for $24.07 (& some even offer dinner for $35). Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to try out a restaurant that may usually be out of your budget, or test some new restaurants with a little less financial risk.

Whistlin’ Dixie’s Beer Pong Wednesdays
This 10-gallon-hat-wearin' wild spot is known as a hot hang for party ladies who like tight clothes and the guys that like, well, them—so combine that with the always-steady flow of adult beverages and it's no surprise a drinking challenge of some sort would break out on occasion. However, the contests have now been officially sanctioned as beer pong battles are on the schedule every Wednesday... Games begin at 6 p.m.—and with $1 domestic drafts to fill your cups, it shouldn't be too much of a financial burden to invest in a little chuck-and-sip here on a weekly basis.

Darts and Drafts
This weekly affair is about as plain and relaxed as can be. Yes, there might be occasional yelling—but with a darts competition going on all night, that’s to be expected. However, if you’re one who’s inclined to throw, this is a winner for you: free darts all night plus $3 drafts from 7 p.m.-4 a.m. Furthermore, if you're an ex-pat or just a fan of Irish sports, this venue offers all Setanta athletic programming…and yes, that includes darts as well.
